About the Role
UPMC's Corporate Human Resources team is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to support the Corporate Services department. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to launch a career in human resources. You will provide essential administrative support to various teams, including Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, Information Technology, and Travel Staffing.What You'll Do
- Provide general administrative and project support.
- Coordinate the exit interview process, including scheduling, communication, and result compilation.
- Act as the department receptionist, managing the HR phone line and greeting visitors.
- Oversee the HR email inbox, delegating inquiries as needed.
- Offer clerical and administrative assistance to the HR Director, HR Consultants, and other staff.
- Assist with accurate and timely data entry for licenses, certifications, clearances, and corrective actions.
- Manage the sending of documents to the HR Scan Center for electronic employee record keeping.
- Support office operations by ordering supplies, managing mail, and handling filing, printing, copying, and faxing.
- Respond to basic HR inquiries or direct employees to appropriate resources.
- Generate basic reports for tracking and compliance, such as licensure, COGNOS turnover, and annual mandatory reports.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and one year of progressively responsible administrative experience (preferably in HR).
- OR Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- OR successful completion of the UPMC Summer Associate Program/Pittsburgh Fellows Program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong administrative, organizational, prioritization, confidentiality, and customer service skills.
- HR experience and/or education is preferred.
