Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist

Ready to be part of a team where every test result matters? UPMC is seeking a motivated and detail-driven professional for a full-time flex role rotating between first and second shifts with varied days including weekends and holidays.

This role involves performing routine and advanced testing that supports patient diagnosis and treatment. You will also work on special projects to drive innovation and operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high and moderate complexity testing with precision.
  • Adhere to specimen collection, phlebotomy, and quality protocols.
  • Evaluate and report test results, detecting abnormal values.
  • Maintain instruments via calibration, quality control, and repairs.
  • Support and lead special projects and training initiatives.

Education & Certifications:

  • For MLS: Bachelor degree requirements with accredited program or equivalent.
  • For MLT: Associate degree or Bachelor degree plus clinical experience.
  • Certification (ASCP or equivalent) and New York license (if applicable) are preferred.

Additional Details: This full-time flex role requires 56–80 hours per pay period with flexible shift coverage. UPMC offers a comprehensive benefits package, career development opportunities, and sign-on bonuses up to $15,000.
