Job Description

About UpGuard

UpGuard's mission is to make life easier for security teams. We meticulously create robust solutions that enable our customers to identify, assess, and remediate cybersecurity risk across their attack surface, vendor ecosystem, workforce, and trust relationships. Our integrated cyber risk posture management platform combines comprehensive security ratings, instant risk assessments, templated security questionnaires, threat intelligence capabilities, and agentic AI to give organizations a holistic view of their risk surface.

Our Analytics team at UpGuard supports all of our teams to extract key insights from the data that we collect. We extract data from multiple sources and build insightful dashboards to display key metrics and support leaders to make decisions. We also build integrations between systems to seamlessly collect required data.

We’re looking for an AI & Automation Specialist to help drive the next stage of UpGuard’s growth. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, transforming complex manual workflows into scalable, AI-powered solutions that streamline operations and unlock new efficiencies across the organisation.

You’ll work closely with the Lead of AI & Automation (A3: Automation, AI & Analytics) and collaborate across teams to identify opportunities where automation and AI can deliver measurable business impact. This is a hands-on role with the chance to influence how our internal processes evolve as we scale, ensuring our technology keeps pace with our expanding operations and strategic ambitions.

What You'll Do as an AI & Automation Specialist

  • Operational Deep-Dives & Process Design: Conduct deep-dive sessions with cross-functional teams (Finance, Sales, CS, Legal, Security) and create detailed As-Is and To-Be process maps to identify bottlenecks and logic gaps.
  • Technical Translation & Specification: Write highly detailed Product Requirement Documents, design test cases, and define success parameters.
  • Build automations and integrate AI powered tools: Be hands-on with creating n8n workflows, automation and as required, also be able to integrate new AI-powered tools with existing business processes.
  • Execution & Sprint Management: Maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog of tasks and ensure the team is working on high impact tasks. Monitor daily progress against project milestones and proactively flag any risks to the timeline.
  • Adoption & Change Management: Create "How-To" guides for every new automation launched, drive training sessions for the teams using these new tools to ensure high adoption rates, and establish a system for users to report bugs or suggest improvements post-launch.

What You'll Bring

  • 2-4 years of experience in process analysis, automation, or a related field.
  • Process analysis: Ability to map end-to-end workflows, identify inefficiencies, and design optimised processes.
  • API & systems integration knowledge: Strong understanding of API and systems integration, including proficiency with APIs, webhooks, and connecting various systems.
  • Workflow orchestration: Hands-on with n8n, Airflow, Zapier, or similar automation platforms.
  • AI/LLM experience: Functional understanding of how LLMs work (prompting, tokens, context windows).
  • Clear communicator: Experience in translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and gathering business requirements.
  • Training mindset: Experience in generating documentation, tutorials, or enabled others to use technical tools.
  • SQL: Experience in querying databases and an understanding of data schemas.
