Job Description
Research Associate in Wireless Communications
The School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW is seeking a Research Associate to join a dynamic team at the forefront of wireless communications research. This role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to innovative research in channel coding and signal processing, supporting the delivery of high-quality outcomes on funded projects.
What You'll Do
- Conduct innovative research in channel coding and signal processing for wireless communications.
- Collaborate with leading academics and researchers on emerging communication technologies.
- Contribute to scientific publications and conference presentations.
- Assist in the supervision of research students.
- Engage with industry partners to enhance research impact.
- Work under the guidance of Professor Jinhong Yuan.

Skills and Experience Required
- PhD (or soon to be awarded) in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proactive knowledge of wireless communications, channel coding, and signal processing.
- Ability to conduct high-quality, independent research with limited supervision.
- Experience in delay–Doppler domain modulation, channel coding, signal processing (including estimation and detection), and/or machine learning for wireless communications.
- Proven publication and conference presentation record.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and professional relationship-building skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, and values.
- Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
