Role Purpose
The Project Management Support Specialist supports the Senior Portfolio Manager, Programme Management Advisor and Project Managers within UNTSS by assisting in negotiations, drafting proposals, costing scenarios, and creating Implementation Plans. They work closely with relevant Project Initiation Documents, Legal Agreements and ensure thorough understanding of partners' roles and responsibilities.
Key Functions & Results
- Resource Mobilization and Donor Engagement: Design resource mobilization strategies, develop proposals, and pilot innovative financing methods.
- Partnership Brokering and Relationship Management: Facilitate partnership lifecycle from scoping to sustainability, ensuring transparent collaboration.
- Project Set-Up and Closure: Prepare integrated project plans, monitor dependencies and manage closure activities.
- Financial and Procurement Management: Support financial planning, monitor budgets, manage cash flows, and assist in procurement processes.
- Monitoring, Reporting and Quality Assurance: Track project performance, conduct data analysis, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Knowledge Management and Innovation: Implement tools and share best practices to enhance project efficiency.
Education & Experience Requirements
Required: Advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) in relevant fields with 5 years of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years of experience. Certification in Project Management (PRINCE2, PMI, or equivalent) is an asset. Experience in project/programme management, partnership development, relationship management or proposal writing is required.
