About The Group

The Finance Group serves as a strategic partner and fiduciary advisor, ensuring transparent, accountable and effective resource management across UNOPS. The group defines financial strategy, establishes finance policies, systems, and processes, and leads corporate budgeting to enable full cost recovery and long-term financial sustainability. They provide expert guidance, oversight, and tailored financial solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Purpose

Under the supervision of the Head of Budgeting, Analytics & Reporting, the Head Of Analytics & Reporting is responsible for leading analytics and business intelligence for financial performance and portfolio reporting. This role includes developing financial performance models based on organizational foresight and long-term planning, championing innovation, and enhancing finance literacy across UNOPS. The incumbent will also support the Finance Group by improving use of available data and reporting solutions.

Functions / Key Results Expected

Analytics & Business Intelligence: Develop and implement advanced data analytics and business intelligence products. Oversee creation of data models, dashboards, and reports ensuring data integrity. Analyze multi-source data to identify trends, opportunities and risks; provide clear recommendations. Drive data-driven practices with training and guidance. Identify and incorporate relevant data sources for decision-making.

Modelling & Foresight: Spearhead creation of forecasting, simulation, and predictive models. Lead financial foresight including horizon scanning and risk analysis. Integrate econometric, statistical, and machine learning techniques. Present methodologies and findings to executive leadership.

Corporate Services & Support: Champion financial literacy by developing self-service tools and dashboards. Support improved automation and efficient resource use in reporting. Provide input for performance monitoring and inter-agency financial reporting. Serve as custodian for UNOPS financial reporting in accordance with UN system requirements.

Team Leadership: Establish annual work plans with clear objectives for the Analytics, Budgeting and Management team. Oversee team performance, foster collaboration, and ensure diversity. Recruit, develop and mentor team members while promoting a positive work environment.

Knowledge Management & Innovation: Stay updated on best practices and emerging technologies in data science and strategic foresight. Document and institutionalize analytical methodologies. Contribute to UNOPS global knowledge networks and mentor junior staff.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field with 9 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience.

Experience Requirements

Progressive work in financial analysis and reporting in a large international organization. Managerial experience at the international level is required. Experience with UN organizations or inter-agency activities is a plus.
