Overview

The Finance Specialist - Catalytic Finance will support pipeline opportunity scoping and partner identification for catalytic financing, with an initial focus on East Africa. This role collaborates with technical teams to develop approaches that catalyze market-based menstrual health solutions.

Functional Responsibilities

Summary of functions: Support scoping of pipeline opportunities/targets, identify gaps, and engage partners including enterprises active in the menstrual health supply chain, incubation programs, financial institutions and blended impact investment funds.

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop work plan in collaboration with hiring manager and technical team.
  • Conduct desk reviews and stakeholder interviews to derive insights.
  • Identify and map pipeline opportunities and financing gaps.
  • Prepare and maintain an overview database on in-country opportunities.
  • Represent SHF at conferences/events to expand the partner network.

Education and Experience

Advanced university degree in relevant fields (or Bachelor plus 2 years additional experience). Minimum 5 years experience in private sector, development or corporate finance; programme financing and impact investing experience preferred. Knowledge of East Africa market and menstrual health industry is an asset.

Language Requirements

Proficiency in English is required. French proficiency is desirable. Other UN languages are an asset.
