Job Description
Financial Product Manager at Snaplii
We are looking for a Financial Product Manager who truly understands how money is stored, moved, and spent—and can translate that understanding into a compliant, scalable product system. In this role, you will own Snaplii’s next-generation wallet/balance products (Wallet 2.0) and core payments architecture across Canada and the United States. You will design the end-to-end user money flow—from funding to spending to retention—while optimizing payment costs and enabling future cross-border and stablecoin payment capabilities.
What You’ll Own (Key Responsibilities)
1) Wallet / Balance Product Design (Canada & US)
You will lead the product design and execution of Snaplii’s wallet-like balance product (similar to a high-yield wallet / stored value account), including:
- End-to-end user flows: top-up, spend, hold, transfer, withdrawal constraints
- Reward/interest/earnings experience: calculation rules, display logic, user transparency
- Clear product boundaries under Canadian & US regulatory framework
- Role definitions across stakeholders: Snaplii vs custodian/trust/issuer/payment partners
- Designing money movement logic that increases retention, improves success rate, and supports future expansion
2) Compliance-by-Design Product Development
Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, and Banking/Custody providers to translate regulatory requirements into executable product logic, including:
- KYC/KYB and identity requirements
- Funds segregation / safeguarding principles
- Account type / balance restrictions and transaction limitations
- Monitoring, exceptions, and user-facing constraints designed for compliance-first scale
3) North America Payments Architecture
Build deep product-level understanding and participate in designing these payment rails and their user-facing integration:
- Pay-by-Bank / A2A / Real-time payments
- Card payments (Visa / Mastercard) including concepts such as 3DS, dispute & chargeback, liability shift, MCC, authorization behavior, and settlement constraints
4) Payment Cost Optimization & Unit Economics
Work with Risk and Finance to optimize payment cost structure and protect margins:
- Improve blended payment costs and steer users toward lower-cost payment paths
- Reduce chargeback exposure through risk-aware product design
- Design incentives and UX mechanisms that balance conversion, cost, and experience
- Build frameworks and decision models to align product growth with sustainable unit economics
5) (Bonus) Cross-border & Future Payments Enablement
Support Snaplii’s longer-term strategy around cross-border and stablecoin-powered payments:
- Understand how USDC/USDT can enable real-world consumer spending in North America
- Explore Snaplii’s potential role as the “last-mile consumer spending layer”
You don’t need to be a crypto trader. But we do expect a practical understanding of where stablecoins create real value in payment flows.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
- 5+ years of experience in fintech product, payments, or wallet/stored value products
- Hands-on experience building or operating wallet/payment products in Canada and/or the US
- Deep understanding of at least 2 of the following domains: Wallet / stored value / balance products; Bank-to-bank payments (A2A, RTP, EFT, ACH); Card payment networks (Visa/Mastercard) including disputes, risk, chargebacks
- Strong capability to work with and influence cross-functional partners: Legal, Compliance, Banking/Custody, PSPs
- Ability to simplify complex financial/regulatory requirements into clear product specs and scalable systems
Nice-to-Have
- Experience partnering with custodian banks, trust accounts, issuers, PSPs
- Familiarity with MSB / PSP registration-related product design
- Proven track record launching compliant wallet/balance products from pilot to scale
- Practical understanding of cross-border payments / stablecoin rails / PayFi
- Experience building products 0→1 or scaling from compliance-constrained MVP to mass adoption
Compensation
- Base salary: up to $180K
- Performance bonus: 20–25% of base
- Equity: $50K/year in RSUs or options
- Base location: San Jose, US (remote)
- Travel: Monthly travel to Toronto during the first three months
