The Role
We are seeking a Senior Technical Analyst, Engineering & Enablement, with a proven track record to help us build and support the three key pillars of our business, which include Corporate, Investments, and Pensions. Our growing Corporate Technology portfolio, includes functional groups such as People, Corporate Finance, Communications, Engagement & Strategy, Legal, and Facilities, among others. The ideal candidate must be able to translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user interface design, implementation specifications, system requirements and solution design.
Reporting directly to the Director, Engineering & Enablement, the individual will be a key member of the team, working closely with Solution Architects, and partnering with key technology partners to collaboratively engage, model, drive, and operationalize solutions across the organization. You will be extremely motivated with a can-do attitude, be hands-on, subscribe to a continuous learning mindset, and apply leading practices and technologies to your work. You will bring in-depth experience in documenting business and technical requirements, process orchestration and automated workflow design, problem analysis and troubleshooting, system configuration and cybersecurity. You also possess experience in medium-to-large enterprise-level complex technology environment(s).

This role is based in downtown Toronto under a hybrid work policy, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in-office (approximately two days per week in-office).

Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery with little oversight and provide mentorship and training to junior staff.
- Provide Level 2 functional support for the assigned portfolio of applications (e.g. IntraLinks, the Pension platform suite, NetSuite, Dynamo, Bloomberg, SharePoint tools, corporate SaaS platforms), resolving incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Triage production issues across front-, middle-, and back-office functions, perform initial impact analysis, and escalate to senior team members, developers, or third party vendors as needed.
- Implement approved configuration changes and minor enhancements across supported applications and enabling platforms (e.g. GCP, OutSystems, SharePoint, the Pension platform suite, Atlassian, Oracle NetSuite) to better support business needs.
- Work closely with Solution Architects and senior L2 team members to ensure changes and solutions align with UPP’s architecture, design standards, and roadmaps.
- Apply UPP SDLC and delivery practices consistently, including requirements capture, documentation, testing, change management, and controlled deployments.
- Collect and clarify business and operational requirements from stakeholders (Pensions, Investments, Enterprise, Corporate, Other Corp) and translate them into clear documentation (e.g., tickets, user stories, configuration specs).
- Ensure that application changes and integrations comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements; collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain required controls.
- Liaise with third party vendors (e.g., IntraLinks, TalkDesk, SAP, Salesforce, etc.) for incident escalation, enhancement requests, and adherence to SLAs.
- Monitor and review incidents and request metrics for supported systems, identify recurring issues, and recommend process or system improvements for operational excellence.
- Maintain accurate application support documentation, including runbooks, configuration details, integrations, best practices, and operational/support procedures.
- Educate and support end users and business stakeholders on system capabilities, new features, and best practices to maximize value from tools such as SharePoint Solutions, JIRA, Monday.com, CRM/marketing platforms, and other corporate applications.
- Coordinate and communicate upcoming changes, releases, and maintenance windows across impacted business areas, ensuring clear expectations and readiness.
- Assist project and change initiatives involving supported applications (e.g., new implementations, data conversions, workflow automation, integration changes), including testing support and post rollout stabilization.
- Contribute to the assessment of technology risks within the assigned application portfolio, documenting risks, key decisions, business dates, and stakeholder impacts, and supporting risk mitigation activities.
- Support consistent solution review practices for new or enhanced vendor solutions to ensure they meet functional, non functional, data, and security requirements.
- Maintain a current view of the supported portfolio (applications, enabling platforms, key stakeholders, integrations, and dependencies) and keep records current as ownership or scope evolve.
- Stay current with relevant technology and industry trends (e.g., cloud platforms, SaaS tools, automation, collaboration and CRM tools) and bring forward ideas for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Provide occasional support outside of core business hours for critical incidents, system releases, or planned maintenance affecting the supported applications.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and/or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in system administration, technical analysis, or application support.
- Solid understanding of core IT concepts such as application design, documentation, databases, user interfaces, business rules, and system integrations.
- Hands on experience with software testing (e.g., executing test cases, validating fixes, regression testing) to confirm functionality and identify issues.
- Experience working with cloud and collaboration technologies such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and low code/no code tools (e.g., PowerApps/PowerAutomate).
- Practical experience with SQL (e.g., querying data, basic joins, filters) for troubleshooting, reporting, or data validation activities.
- Experience with one or more enterprise SaaS platforms such as CRM, HCM, or ERP tools (e.g., Salesforce, Ceridian Dayforce, NetSuite, or similar) is preferred.
- In-depth experience in cloud engineering (GCP or AWS)
- In-depth experience with ETL & workflow tools, specifically experience with Informatica.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, including the ability to gather requirements, clarify issues with business stakeholders, and coordinate with vendors to resolve incidents or implement changes.

- Exposure to financial services, pensions, or investment operations (e.g., understanding of core financial instruments or transaction/operations workflows).

Expected Compensation
The expected compensation for this role is an annualized base salary in the range of $70,800 to $95,800. This range reflects the expected range for new hire base salaries and is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
You may also be eligible for a variable incentive depending on organizational, divisional and personal performance. The final total compensation offered will vary depending on your skills, experience and other factors.
