Position Overview
The IS Operations Analyst at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) provides technical analysis and support for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of data center facilities, applications, and systems. The role also involves planning analysis and support for monitoring workflow, methods, and procedures for data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate system outages and establish bridge calls during critical events.
- Troubleshoot data circuit outages, open tickets, and update statuses.
- Oversee enterprise batch job streams and escalate issues.
- Manage Escrow account documentation and support password requests.
- Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and relocations; maintain inventory and documentation.
- Assist with incident logging, response and develop after-action improvements.
- Contribute to process improvements and team cross-training efforts.
Qualifications and Certifications
Candidates must hold certifications including CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and CompTIA IT Operations Specialist. Excellent communication and customer service skills and a fundamental understanding of complex IT systems are required.
Work Schedule & Environment
This position operates on-site with rotating 4x10 hour shifts and as needed on occasion, ensuring adherence to internal controls and reporting structures.
