Bilingual Undergraduate Research Assistant – Chinese Recruitment
The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly motivated and culturally competent undergraduate Research Assistant for a community-based study focused on Chinese (Simplified & Traditional) and Chinese-American populations. This part-time role (10 hours per week) involves direct outreach, bilingual communication, and administrative support, and offers hands-on experience in participant recruitment and community-engaged research.
Responsibilities
- Engage in community outreach by identifying Chinese organizations and businesses online and in-person.
- Communicate study announcements via digital (WhatsApp, Instagram, forums) and physical channels.
- Translate study materials between Chinese (Simplified & Traditional) and English.
- Maintain detailed recruitment logs, status reports, and participate in weekly team meetings.
- Adhere to research ethics, recruitment protocols, and cultural sensitivity standards.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student.
- Fluency in Chinese (Simplified & Traditional) and English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an interest in community-based research.
- Prior outreach or translation experience is a plus.
Additional Information
This is a non-exempt, part-time position located in Austin, TX. Orientation, training, and ongoing mentorship will be provided.
