About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Analytics Specialist to join the Advanced Analytics, Planning and Enterprise Data team within the Strategy Portfolio at the University of Sydney. In this full-time, continuing role, you will transform complex data into clear, actionable insights, enhancing the staff and student experience.

Your role involves collaborating across the University to solve real-world challenges using advanced analytics and data visualization. Your technical expertise in SQL and Python, alongside your storytelling skills, will bring data to life and support data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver sustainable analytics solutions using SQL and Python
  • Translate data into insights and guide data-informed decision-making
  • Build strong partnerships to apply analytics and machine learning for impact

About You

You should have tertiary qualifications in analytics, data, or a related field (or equivalent experience), strong programming skills in Python and SQL, and experience in delivering insights using Power BI. Additionally, you should be skilled in data validation, pattern recognition, storytelling with data, and confident presenting to diverse audiences. Experience with machine learning and Snowflake is considered a plus.
