This Research Data Analyst position, within the Clinical and Translational Science Institute Informatics Core, involves analyzing electronic health record and national survey data using advanced computational and statistical software. The role requires conducting literature searches, generating tables and figures for presentations, and summarizing analysis results. The candidate will work under the general supervision of Dr. Li, contributing to the acceleration of discovery and translation of data-driven insights.
Essential Functions
- Conduct Literature Searches: Perform comprehensive literature searches for statistical data analyses and summarize findings into reportable paragraphs.
- Analyze Data: Utilize advanced statistical, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms to analyze electronic health record (EHR) and national survey data.
- Generate Visualizations: Develop custom external programs using Python and R to automate data cleaning, transformation, and quality control, then generate tables and figures for manuscripts and conference presentations.
- Write Reports: Prepare detailed reports summarizing and interpreting analysis results from EHR and national survey data, incorporating published literature for context.
- Team Collaboration: Attend and present findings at group meetings, and regularly meet with supervisors and the research team to discuss results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
- High School diploma and 1 year post high school education required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics preferred.
- Experience working with large datasets preferred.
- Proficiency with data analysis software such as Python and R preferred.
- Experience with machine learning and deep learning algorithms preferred.
- Familiarity with relational databases preferred.
- Ability to work on-site or remotely.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Skilled at Python and R programming, with the ability to perform statistical and machine learning models preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills for effective collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
