As a Laboratory Technician II, you will join a research team working to understand the biology of acute myeloid leukemia using cutting edge technologies.
Responsibilities
You will perform diverse research laboratory assignments under standard practices and procedures. Work involves molecular and cellular biology experiments focusing on hematological disorders, stem cell biology and cancer biology. Duties include routine cell culture, retro- and lentiviral genetic manipulation, RNA isolation, RT-QPCR, protein isolation, gel electrophoresis, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and basic animal husbandry.
- Perform routine cell culture of primary bone marrow derived hematopoietic cells.
- Conduct flow cytometry assays and bone marrow transplantation tests.
- Genotype and maintain mouse strains with PI supervision.
- Maintain detailed lab records and journal entries.
- Prepare reagents, restock supplies and assist in laboratory compliance.
Qualifications
An Associate's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience is required. Preferred experience includes molecular and cell biology techniques, sterile technique, and tissue culture methodologies. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and effective team communication.
