Position Overview
The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine is inviting applications for a Tenure Track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Working Dog Science. The successful candidate will have a record of scholarship in Working Dog Science including extramural funding, peer-reviewed research, and program development.
Research & Collaboration
The candidate’s research may cover disciplines such as olfaction, olfactory detection, genomics, genetics, behavior and welfare science, cognitive neuroscience, and human-animal interaction. A commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration is key, with integration into the Penn Vet Animal Welfare and Behavior program and cross-University partnerships.
Role & Responsibilities
- Devote majority effort to independent, externally funded research.
- Contribute no more than 20% to clinical care, teaching, or service.
- Lead, shape, and advance the research vision at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center.
- Collaborate with academic hospital, clinical departments, and interdisciplinary programs.
