About the Position

The Intermediate Analyst, IT Quality Assurance at University of Ottawa plays a critical role in ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Reporting to the Lead Technical Designer, this role involves testing, risk analysis, implementation, and documentation to guarantee that projects meet high quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Testing: Prepare and execute test cases, update test scripts, record results, and ensure full coverage of business needs.
  • Development: Monitor quality checkpoints in software development, develop test strategies for new products, and verify testing before production.
  • Risk Analysis: Evaluate risks during test planning and execution, recommending risk evaluations and confirming project launch readiness.
  • Implementation: Conduct post-implementation reviews and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of testing processes, defect analysis, and best practices.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a University degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent experience. At least five years of experience in a quality assurance role is required, with strong knowledge in both manual and automated testing. Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, NodeJS, ReactJS, SQL, Git, Selenium, Cypress and experience with Power BI, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Power Platform, and Azure AI Services is essential. Bilingualism in French and English is required.
