Overview
The University of Calgary is seeking a Youth Mental Health Research Associate for a full-time, fixed term position for approximately 1 year with potential extension. The position is based out of The Summit: Centre for Youth Resilience and focuses on child, adolescent, and young adult mental health research within the Radiology department of the Cumming School of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment and retention of research participants
- Support research studies including ethics board applications, data collection, management, and reporting
- Manage research databases in REDCap and other platforms
- Engage with diverse researchers and community partners
- Collect various human research data (questionnaires, behavioural tasks, neuroimaging, biological samples)
- Perform literature reviews and knowledge synthesis
- Assist in preparation of research documents including protocols, questionnaires, reports, and manuscripts
- Lead knowledge translation and community engagement initiatives
- Ensure timely and accurate data reporting and maintenance
Qualifications / Requirements
Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field (preferably Neuroscience or mental health related field) with a graduate degree being required. A minimum of 3-5 years of research experience, including data management, participant interactions, and report generation, is necessary. Experience working with youth, REDCap, and quantitative data analysis is required. Preferred skills include familiarity with qualitative analysis, social media platforms, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Additional Information
This position may require a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and travel to various recruitment sites. The role is part of the AUPE bargaining unit under the Specialist/Advisor Job Family, Phase 3. Preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
