Position Overview

The University of Calgary's Faculty of Science invites applications for a Canada Research Chair in Computer Science at the rank of Associate Professor (with Tenure) or Full Professor (with Tenure) focused on applied cybersecurity and privacy.

Expectations

Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) and demonstrate leadership in Computer Science or related fields. Preference is given to candidates addressing critical infrastructure challenges, developing privacy-enhancing technologies, applying secure software development processes, or deploying cybersafe systems in environments with autonomous operations.

  • Expertise in systems security, software security, digital forensics, network security, penetration testing, or ethical hacking.
  • Strong record in securing external funding, publications, and research team leadership.
  • Contributing to teaching, graduate supervision, and service to the department and community.
