Position Overview
The Clinical Research Study Assistant works at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The role supports the Cancer Clinical Research Unit by coordinating study activities including appointment scheduling, ordering study supplies, processing patient reimbursements, and assisting with specimen transport. This position requires an understanding of research regulations (ICH/GCP, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki, FDA CFR, Health Canada TPD) and basic medical terminology.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule study patient appointments
- Register study patients for appointments
- Order study-specific and unit supplies
- Assist with patient reimbursement requests
- Support inter-professional team tasks as required
Qualifications
A community college diploma or equivalent (preferred in a health-related discipline) along with at least three months of related experience, preferably in clinical research. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, decision-making skills, and proficiency with MS Office tools. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.
