About the Music and Advanced Machine Learning Lab (MAML)
Part of the Global Technology organization, the MAML invents and builds state‑of‑the‑art AI/ML tools designed to empower artists and industry professionals. Covering the full R&D lifecycle—from research to prototypes to industrial scale products—the lab focuses on content understanding, creative tools, search, recommendation, and more.
The Role: AI Tech Lead Manager
This role offers leadership of a team of engineers tasked with developing an intelligent video search platform that fuses media content processing with AI-driven search and metadata enrichment. You will shape technical vision, architecture, and execution for a platform serving internal creative teams and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team (backend, frontend, AI engineers).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Own the design and evolution of an AI-driven video search and discovery platform.
- Oversee scalable development of ingestion, indexing, retrieval systems, and user applications.
- Integrate multimodal AI models (video, audio, text) for deep content understanding.
Skills and Experience
- 7+ years software/ML engineering experience; 2+ years in technical lead role.
- Strong background in computer science, software engineering, ML Ops, or AI.
- Proven experience managing teams with expertise in backend, frontend and AI integration.
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, C++), Git, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and Linux.
- Familiarity with information retrieval (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch) and vector databases.
