About Principal Software Engineer - Data Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, high-performance data pipelines.
  • Architect end-to-end data pipelines using Spark, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data governance standards.
  • Mentor teams, lead code reviews, and drive data strategy.
  • Design and monitor MLOps pipelines and AI operations on data.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Mentor data engineers and analysts.
  • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
  • Influence architectural decisions and contribute to enterprise-wide data strategy.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps and DataOps practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Strong skills in designing database schemas and data modeling.
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and real-time streaming.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and optionally Scala or Java.
  • Proven leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years in data architecture or engineering, especially in healthcare.
  • Experience with HL7, FHIR, and healthcare data standards.
  • Familiarity with MLOps and open-source contributions.
