About the Financial Clearance Representative Associate Role

Primary Responsibilities

The Financial Clearance Representative Associate is responsible for:

  • Completing the financial clearance process through patient interviews and data collection.
  • Educating patients about policies including Patient Rights, HIPAA, and treatment consents.
  • Verifying insurance eligibility and documenting details in Epic.
  • Confirming active health insurance coverage and benefits for procedures.
  • Providing proactive price estimates and explaining financial responsibilities.
  • Referring patients with inadequate insurance to financial counseling.
  • Reviewing patient visit information to determine authorization needs.
  • Mentoring less experienced team members regarding revenue cycle and payer issues.
  • Meeting departmental productivity and quality targets.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required qualifications include 6+ months of experience in insurance/benefit verification, registration, or prior authorization activities in healthcare settings, intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work standard daytime CST hours. Preferred qualifications include an Associate or Vocational degree in a related field, experience with clinical staff, clinical documentation, and working in outpatient/inpatient settings.

Additional Information

This role offers the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. Compensation is hourly ranging from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and various incentive programs.
