United Surgical Partners International, Inc. (USPI) is seeking a motivated Regional Business Office Manager for the Memorial Hermann Surgery Center North Loop and Greater Heights. This role is crucial for overseeing all facility billing, accounts receivable, and collection activities, ensuring the achievement of cash collection and AR goals. You will also manage accounts payable and payroll functions, working collaboratively with other department heads to maintain compliance with financial, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Job Summary
The Regional Business Office Manager is responsible for all facility billing, accounts receivable, and collection activities. This includes supervising billing and collections personnel and achieving financial goals for cash collection and AR. The role also involves managing accounts payable and payroll, and ensuring compliance with all financial, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain current policies and procedures for the Surgery Center business office.
- Ensure the Center’s operations comply with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards related to the business office and medical records.
- Oversee all accounts receivable activities to ensure timely cash flow.
- Ensure accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information.
- Implement and ensure adherence to all internal controls.
- Liaise with the home office billing team and payers to define billing requirements and ensure prompt payment of claims.
- Manage census activities, including daily, weekly, and monthly balancing.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable principles.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all data, including patient, employee, and operational information.
- Support and participate in common teamwork initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven management experience, including experience with insurance contracts, healthcare, patient-facing interactions, registration, medical records, and insurance verification.
- Minimum of five years of business office management experience, with at least three years in a department manager role.
- Proficiency in accounting and ability to use computer automated accounting systems.
- Experience working with all types of third-party payers (HMO, PPO, Medicare/Medicaid, etc.).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated accountability, integrity, professionalism, openness, receptiveness to change, and creativity.
Work Schedule
Availability is required Monday-Friday, with a schedule subject to change based on surgical schedules and daily flow. Candidates should be prepared for some early mornings and later evenings.
