Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist - United Health Services

Job Description Summary

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for utilizing their training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

Essential Duties

  • Obtain medical histories when necessary
  • Perform physician exams
  • Diagnose, treat, and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines)
  • Order diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe or recommend medications for prescriptions (within protocol guidelines)
  • Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations
  • Ensure charts are completed timely
  • Make follow-up calls to check patient's progress
  • Consult with a physician regarding patient's symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner
  • Licensed in the State of New York
