Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist - United Health Services

Job Description Summary
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for utilizing their training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.
Essential Duties
- Obtain medical histories when necessary
- Perform physician exams
- Diagnose, treat, and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines)
- Order diagnostic tests
- Prescribe or recommend medications for prescriptions (within protocol guidelines)
- Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations
- Ensure charts are completed timely
- Make follow-up calls to check patient's progress
- Consult with a physician regarding patient's symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing
- Certified Nurse Practitioner
- Licensed in the State of New York
