Job Description
Community Health Center of the North Country seeks a Patient Access Representative to join our dedicated team at our Federally Qualified Health Center in Canton, NY. In this important front-line role, you will be the welcoming face and voice of our organization, greeting patients with compassion and professionalism while ensuring a smooth and supportive experience from scheduling to check-out.

Primary Responsibilities
- Greet patients in person or by phone with a friendly manner.
- Answer telephone calls promptly and route them appropriately.
- Screen visitors and verify patient demographics and insurance details.
- Perform pre-registration, registration, point-of-service collections, and check-out procedures.
- Verify insurance coverage and update patient information.
- Collect payment and manage patient account balances.
- Coordinate scheduling and rescheduling of appointments and procedures.
- Assist with referrals, billing inquiries, and medical record requests.
- Maintain cash drawer and support quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year of experience or equivalent education in a medical office field preferred.
- Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and sit for long periods.
- Professionalism and confidentiality in handling patient information.
