Engineer - Application Cybersecurity

Overview

Achieving our goals starts with supporting yours. United Airlines invites talented professionals to join their Cybersecurity and Digital Risk (CDR) team. As an Engineer - Application Cybersecurity, you will help validate that our services, applications, and websites are designed and implemented in accordance with United’s secure development standards.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with development, product, and other teams to integrate security into every phase of the product lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

• Performing manual and automated code analysis using security testing solutions.
• Conducting mobile application security assessments and manual vulnerability analysis.
• Developing and maintaining CI/CD templates for improved security automation.
• Researching, defining, and communicating security best practices.
• Supporting security architecture design reviews and threat modeling.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience are required. You should have working knowledge of OWASP Top 10, CWE 25, application testing techniques (SAST, DAST, SCA), programming/scripting languages (Python preferred), SDLC processes, and web/app security stacks.

Preferred certifications and expertise include AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Application Security Engineer, and hands-on experience with DevSecOps, cloud technologies, and various programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, Swift, and JavaScript.
