Data Engineer
Unite Us is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable, high-performance data infrastructure. This role is crucial for supporting enterprise products and analytics capabilities by enabling efficient data ingestion, transformation, and delivery. You will focus on reliability, data quality, and supporting diverse reporting needs. The engineer will build and optimize pipelines using tools like DBT, Airflow, and Spark, managing data across platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, and Postgres within an AWS environment.
Collaboration and Strategic Impact
You will collaborate closely with Solutions Architects, Product Managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the data architecture meets evolving product requirements and client expectations. Maintaining data systems to high standards of performance, security, and scalability for sensitive healthcare and social care datasets is key. This is a strategic role where you will proactively think about long-term scalability, build infrastructure as code, and design solutions for a broad range of stakeholders, including sophisticated enterprise clients. Your work will directly support impact measurement, ROI demonstration, and the delivery of actionable insights across the Unite Us network.
What You'll Do:
- Execute a data architecture and infrastructure strategy to meet business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Solutions Architects and Product Managers to ensure technical infrastructure supports client requirements.
- Develop ETL and data pipeline solutions for efficient data loading into the data warehouse.
- Test internal data pipelines for reliability and optimal performance.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience as a Data Engineer with a proven track record of setting up data pipelines using DBT.
- Proficiency in using Airflow to create Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) for orchestrating data pipelines and processes with Python.
- Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL pipelines, including platforms like Snowflake, Informatica, Redshift, Postgres, and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Spark using Scala.
- Experience using and building solutions to support various reporting and data user tools (e.g., Chartio, Tableau, Looker).
- Experience in setting up and maintaining databases within the AWS environment.
- Proficiency in Building Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience working on applications that serve large enterprise clients.
- Experience working with healthcare and/or social determinants of health data products is highly desirable.
- A strong focus on building performant systems.
- Ability to think proactively and build scalable solutions that meet the diverse needs of enterprise clients with dedicated data teams.

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
This position is remote and U.S. based. The target pay range is $115,000-$135,000 annually, dependent on candidate skills, experience, competencies, and location. All team members must pass a background check. Unite Us provides all necessary equipment for remote work.
