Overview

Uniswap Labs builds products that help millions access DeFi simply and securely. As Engineering Manager for the Protocol team, you will guide engineers who design, build, and secure the smart-contract systems powering Uniswap V4, UniswapX and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership: Hire, coach, and grow a diverse team of world-class smart-contract engineers in an inclusive, high-performance environment.

Technical Direction: Own the architecture and roadmap for Uniswap’s Solidity-based protocol, including hooks, cross-chain deployments, and governance upgrades. Champion best practices in gas optimization, modular design, and upgrade-safe patterns.

Security & Audits: Implement rigorous SDLC practices including threat modeling, formal verification, fuzzing, and external audit loops. Coordinate with audit firms and lead internal red-team exercises and bug-bounty triage.

Project Execution: Translate product and research goals into engineering plans, prioritize tasks, and track milestones across multiple chains.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Legal, Security, Design, and Community teams to ship features that protect billions in TVL.

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years building production EVM smart-contract systems in Solidity or low-level languages.
  • 2+ years managing engineers.
  • Proven track record shipping secure contracts and handling significant TVL.
  • Deep knowledge of the EVM, DeFi mechanics, and smart contract security techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Contributions to open-source DeFi protocols or Ethereum Improvement Proposals.
  • Familiarity with L2s, cross-chain messaging, account abstraction, or zero-knowledge proofs.
  • Experience with tooling such as Foundry, Hardhat, Slither, Echidna, Certora, or MythX.

Compensation & Benefits

Minimum full-time salary is between $360,000 and $390,000, along with equity, tokens, and comprehensive benefits including company-paid medical, dental, vision, gym subsidy, 401(k) with 4% employer contribution, education stipend, generous time off, parental leave, remote work support, and daily lunches at New York headquarters.
