Role Overview

As a Lead Materials Engineer, you will drive material selection and manufacturing process development for aerospace and industrial components. You will collaborate with design teams, manufacturing operations, and suppliers to ensure optimal material performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Your role includes developing and refining processes, conducting failure analyses, solving complex engineering challenges, and implementing quality enhancements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct material and process development programs for metals, polymers, and composites.
  • Direct verification and performance testing using ASTM standards.
  • Assist manufacturing with process parameter identification and tooling requirements.
  • Prepare and review materials-based part drawings and technical reports.
  • Lead root cause problem solving for manufacturing and field service issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with minimum 3 years in materials science or related field.

Desired Characteristics

  • Aerospace experience preferred; electronics industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of materials selection, manufacturing processes, and testing.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay range is $90,800 - $112,000, with additional annual discretionary bonus potential. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and more.

Additional Information

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. A drug screen is required and relocation assistance is provided.
