Job Summary

The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for taking food and beverage orders and efficiently delivering items to dining room guests, ensuring a pleasant and professional dining experience. This role focuses on exceptional service, maintaining sanitation standards, and accommodating guest needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room, taking food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally, adhering to safe food handling and sanitation standards.
• Follow up periodically with guests to assist with any additional needs or requests.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of all menu items and their ingredients.
• Advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable requests, noting preferences.
• Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens when necessary.
• Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and special request accommodation.
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Remain flexible and patient when interacting with guests and staff.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote and maintain a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared by guests.
• Promptly address complaints or issues, relaying relevant information to the supervisor.
• Ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods, keeping the area clean and neat while meeting sanitation standards.
• Operate various equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
• Collaborate with staff from other departments for special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
