Position Overview
The Data Protection Consultant role is with the Chief Data Office in the Division of Data, Analytics, Planning and Monitoring at UNICEF. This remote consultancy position is aimed at developing and rolling out a data protection programme with a primary focus on raising awareness and training on data protection and privacy requirements globally at UNICEF.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a Personal Data Protection event for International Data Protection Day.
- Collaborate with Data Protection Champions to deliver training and workshops.
- Coordinate integration of data protection content into onboarding materials.
- Create and disseminate knowledge sharing materials and digital campaigns.
- Engage with senior leadership to ensure support for the data protection programme.
- Develop metrics, monitor progress, and provide strategic updates.
- Prepare thematic webinars and workshops to ensure active engagement.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an advanced degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience in personal data protection and privacy, strong expertise in training and capacity building, and a deep understanding of international data protection laws such as GDPR. Experience in developing training materials, strong communication skills and familiarity with data analytics tools are essential.
Additional Information
This consultancy position is remote with a duty station in New York, United States. The term of the consultancy is from December 15, 2025 to December 31, 2026.
