About the Role
The Data Protection Consultancy role supports UNICEF in implementing a robust Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) framework within the Chief Data Office. The consultant will work remotely and collaborate with multiple divisions and offices to identify, assess, and mitigate data protection risks in line with UNICEF's Personal Data Protection Policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Review global data and records to identify high-risk processing activities.
- Conduct consultations with stakeholders in at least five offices/divisions.
- Support creation of data flow maps and comprehensive DPIA reports.
- Assess risks and propose mitigation measures for compliance.
- Create and maintain a centralized repository of DPIA documentation.
- Draft recommendations to strengthen the overall DPIA framework.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in Data Protection, Privacy Law, Data Science, Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 4 years in privacy technology or personal data protection. Proficiency in GDPR, privacy enhancing technologies, and experience with data mapping and digital systems is essential. Prior experience with multilateral or UN organizations is a plus.
