Consultancy Overview
This consultancy role with UNICEF MK is for a Cash based Assistance – Knowledge Management and Reporting Consultant. Based remotely with a duty station in New York and guided by the Global Cash lead in Nairobi, you will support global reporting and knowledge management tasks for cash-based assistance modalities in fragile and humanitarian contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting Activities: Ensure quality assurance and track UNICEF’s cash-based assistance data; draft annual reporting narratives for multiple reports.
- Knowledge Management: Develop and update the UNICEF Cash Atlas, create case studies, newsletters, and manage internal resource pages and mailing lists.
- Internal & External Communication: Develop ICON stories, social media messages, and compile communication packages around key events.
Terms, Deliverables & Deadlines
The assignment runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026. Deliverables include annual report narratives, a results table, visualization slide decks, case studies, newsletters, web page updates, ICON stories, and social media packages, with staggered deadlines including 31 May 2026 and 31 December 2026.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Economics, Social Science, Database Management, Data Analytics or a related field is required, though a Bachelor’s degree with additional experience may be accepted.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in humanitarian work, with at least 5 years documenting humanitarian programs.
- Expertise in using cash-based modalities in fragile contexts, strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and adhering to UNICEF’s core values and child safeguarding principles.
- Completion of UNICEF's e-Recruitment profile, submission of academic credentials, and a competitive financial proposal is required.
