Job Description

About the Role

The GenU Digital Strategy & ICT Consultant role supports UNICEF's GenU digital initiatives. The consultant will implement a digital strategy for scaling across GenU programmes and provide ICT technical expertise for various digital projects including Passport to Earning (P2E), Global Volunteer Initiative (GVI), imaGen Ventures and more.

Responsibilities

  • Implement GenU’s digital systems strategy in cooperation with country offices.
  • Provide technical guidance on platform selection, integration, and ecosystem optimization.
  • Support the migration of P2E to an open source platform.
  • Assist in backend system management, data security, and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with partners for technical assessments and solution discovery.
  • Facilitate capacity building and consolidate lessons learned into an annual report.

Terms & Conditions

This is a consultancy assignment with a duration from 01 March 2026 to 28 February 2027, based remotely with duty station in New York, United States. Travel expenses and deliverable-based payment are applicable.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, IT, Digital Transformation or related field.
  • At least 10 years of ICT consulting/digital transformation experience.
  • Expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) and API architecture.
  • Experience with LMS, open-source platforms (Moodle, Open edX) and digital identity solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and technical capacity building skills.
