Job Overview

The Human Resources Manager is a key business partner to operational leadership and is responsible for implementing the organization’s HR strategy, executing key projects and initiatives. Reporting to the Regional Sr. HR Manager, this role leads the facility/group HR team across various functions including talent development, workforce planning, engagement, performance management, and more.

What It Means to Be on Our HR Operations Team

This team ensures effective HR strategy execution for over 50 distribution centers, playing a pivotal role in UNFI’s transformation journey by developing, retaining, and engaging the right talent while embodying a true "people first" culture.

Job Responsibilities

  • HR Leadership: Lead the HR function at the facility, manage a team of HR Business Partners and associates, and execute HR programs aligned with company policies.
  • Strategic Business Partnership: Build effective working relationships with leaders, provide coaching, and use metrics to drive business solutions.
  • Workforce Planning and Talent Management: Forecast talent needs, execute recruitment and onboarding strategies, and manage succession planning.
  • Engagement & Associate Relations: Foster company culture, manage engagement surveys, and resolve associate concerns.
  • Execution of HR Functions: Implement HR initiatives, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and manage programs like performance evaluations, compensation planning, and wellness initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree or relevant HR certification (PHR/SPHR/CHRL/CPHR).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in HR with deep understanding of HR practices.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, project management, and change management.
