Hot Food Bar Cook at Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace

Our newest store in Levittown, NY is coming soon! We are seeking a full-time chef for our Hot Food Bar. You will prepare delicious dishes using our signature recipes and integrate your past experience into our menu choices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items
• Cook high-quality meals following company recipes
• Store excess food properly to avoid spoilage
• Ensure food portions and presentation meet company standards
• Monitor supplies and reorder stock as needed
• Maintain clean cooking utensils and workstations
• Clean and sterilize food preparation areas
• Assist other cooks to complete food orders timely
• Resolve issues with customer orders efficiently
• Follow food health and safety regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• ServSafe food handling certification preferred
• In-depth experience cooking Italian food
• 3+ years as a Cook in an Italian or similar restaurant
• Ability to follow recipes and work in a team
• Must be able to stand for extended periods
• Strong communication skills for kitchen coordination

Working Conditions

Expect continuous movement on hard surfaces, occasional lifting up to 30 pounds (sometimes with assistance), and exposure to temperature extremes in freezers, ovens, and coolers. The role is in a busy indoor environment with machinery and occasional loud equipment, and may involve handling cleaning agents and sharp objects.
