Purpose of the Role
As the Record-to-Report Business Operations Support Manager, you will support the implementation and operations of Umicore’s Record-to-Report (RTR) processes within the Global Finance Services (GFS) organization. This role ensures high-quality financial services and fosters effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Strategic Focus
- Drive continuous improvement and harmonization of RTR processes, including General Ledger, Provisions & Accruals, and Fixed Assets.
- Support the Fixed Asset Manager in process optimization and roadmap execution.
- Act as a regional accounting expert for specific topics.
Key Responsibilities
Record to Report (60%)
- Strengthen and expand the Business Operations Support (BOS) function scope.
- Design and harmonize RTR processes across the organization.
- Oversee daily operations, including general ledger management, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
- Lead and mentor the nearshore finance team, fostering professional growth and performance.
- Manage comprehensive month-end and year-end close processes efficiently.
- Ensure stringent compliance with internal controls and relevant financial regulations.
- Liaise effectively with auditors and various internal and external stakeholders.
- Support audit preparation, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Manage financial systems and actively participate in system-related projects to enhance functionality.
Fixed Asset Processes (40%)
- Supervise daily fixed asset operations, encompassing capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and revaluations.
- Ensure accurate and timely asset reporting in accordance with accounting standards.
- Drive harmonization and digitalization initiatives for fixed asset processes.
- Act as a reliable backup to the Fixed Asset Manager, ensuring seamless operations.
Scope & Interfaces
You will work across multiple business units, company codes, and currencies, utilizing SAP UMP. This role involves collaboration with GFS colleagues, Business Unit finance teams, corporate departments (Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR), external service providers, auditors, and government authorities.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory Shared Service Center (SSC) position.
- Demonstrated expertise in Record-to-Report (RTR) and Asset Accounting.
- Hands-on experience with S/4HANA and related financial tools.
- Strong understanding of shared services operating models and change management principles.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Familiarity with IFRS and local GAAP is considered a significant advantage.
