Position Overview
The Senior Medical Administrative Secretary at UMass Memorial Health performs detailed secretarial and administrative support for assigned physicians and medical service line chiefs. This role requires thorough knowledge of medical office procedures, excellent communication skills, and tact in interfacing with faculty, staff, patients, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate medical office activities and manage scheduling
- Transcribe medical reports and produce correspondence
- Proofread and edit a variety of documents
- Schedule meetings, patient visits, and procedures
- Serve as receptionist and provide quality customer service
Additional Duties
This role may include training staff, coordinating medical office functions across multiple Community Medical Group sites, and attending meetings as a recording secretary.
Travel & Work Environment
This position requires travel between Community Medical Group locations including Douglas, Sutton, Grafton, Millbury, Worcester, and Spencer. Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required; additional specialized medical secretarial training preferred
- 1-3 years medical secretarial/administrative support experience
- Proficiency with software such as Word, spreadsheets, Medi-Tech, IDX, and Lynx
- Must possess a valid MA driver's license and reliable transportation
