UM IT Solutions is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern for a 3-month paid internship. This role offers hands-on experience in securing systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and safeguarding digital assets. There is potential for a full-time role and a certificate of internship based on performance.

Role Overview

As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will gain exposure to monitoring security alerts, analyzing logs, identifying vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments, penetration testing, and assisting in security incident responses. You will also research emerging threats, malware, and attack vectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts and logs.
• Assist in identifying system vulnerabilities and preventive measures.
• Conduct risk assessments and penetration testing under guidance.
• Help design and update security policies and compliance reports.
• Support IT team during security incidents.
• Research emerging threats, malware, and attack vectors.

Requirements

Applicants should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related fields. A basic understanding of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Metasploit, Burp Suite, or Kali Linux is required. Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities is a plus along with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
