General Summary & Scope

The Operations Manager leads a team of Task Associates and a Merchandise Manager, driving top-line sales growth and operational excellence. This role focuses on performance, people, and process by managing store operations, including realignments, planograms, and inventory lifecycle processes.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance: Promote accountability to meet retail and service sales goals, drive profitability, manage forecasts and payroll budgets, analyze financial data, and use corporate tools to improve store results. Also includes performing makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.

People: Attract, hire, and retain top talent, build an engaged and inclusive team, support professional development through coaching, training, and performance reviews, and foster vendor partnerships.

Process: Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, execute operational tasks (ad set processes, inventory control, planograms, etc.), manage scheduling and workload, and maintain store standards to protect assets and minimize loss.

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience: 2-3+ years in fast-paced retail management or related field with skills in financial management, retail oversight, and leadership.

Skills: Proficiency with Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, Apple devices, excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.

Special Position Requirements & Working Conditions

This full-time role requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include mobility throughout the store, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and frequent computer use. Compliance with safety and attendance policies is mandatory.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly pay range is $24.00 - $31.00 with additional eligible compensation via bonus plans. Benefits vary by full-time or part-time status and include health, dental, vision, and more.
