General Summary & Scope

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading through Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values to develop a high-performing team that consistently delivers top-line sales growth at the store. This role oversees Task Associates and the Merchandise Manager, supporting retail operations including realignments, planograms, and inventory lifecycle processes.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Performance: Promote accountability to meet/exceed sales, payroll, and compliance goals.
• Drive profitability through operational excellence and expense control.
• Manage scheduling, forecast, and payroll budgets for optimal productivity.
• Review financial and operational reports regularly to guide decisions.
• Engage in makeup application, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive guest service.

• People: Attract, hire, and retain a diverse top talent team.
• Develop associates through training, feedback, and performance reviews.
• Foster an inclusive environment encouraging associate growth and engagement.

• Process: Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and inventory control.
• Utilize technology and company tools to manage store workload and scheduling.
• Support continuous improvement by communicating trends and challenges to field leadership.

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience: 2-3+ years in fast-paced retail management or relevant fields, with proven financial, operational, and leadership skills.

Skills: Proficient in basic technology, excellent communication, strong collaboration, organizational skills, and adaptability under pressure.

Special Requirements & Working Conditions

Flexible full-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must work Sundays and Mondays and attend corporate meetings. Physical demands include continuous mobility, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and frequent computer use. Reasonable accommodations provided for those with disabilities.
