Overview
The Open Source Intelligence Analyst plays a key role in generating timely, credible open source reports that inform critical Defence decision-making. Based at RAF Wyton, Huntingdon, the role is integral to the Ministry of Defence's Defence Intelligence and the National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence (NCGI).
Role Responsibilities
- Develop in-depth understanding of assigned OSINT subjects, themes, and regions.
- Produce and disseminate timely, relevant OSINT reports for high-level decision makers.
- Engage with MOD, UK Government, and international partners to brief on intelligence findings.
- Utilise various specialist OSINT tools and Microsoft Office for report production.
- Participate in strategic initiatives including analyst exchange programmes and tool trials.
Person Specification & Criteria
Candidates should be curious, detail-oriented, and adept at problem solving. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with digital literacy and organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The role demands flexibility with potential non-standard hours and exposure to graphic material.
Additional Information
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week with a salary of £30,740 and additional benefits including participation in the Civil Service Pension Scheme and flexible working arrangements. Security vetting and UK nationality are required.
