Overview

The Assistant Operations Manager at UFC Gym is responsible for assisting and directing members/guests, ensuring proper check in procedures, and maintaining a friendly, customer service environment. This role supports the Operations Manager in achieving club revenue goals and enhancing member satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Resolve member concerns and complaints professionally.
  • Monitor club facilities and escalate issues.
  • Assist with janitorial service direction.
  • Foster teamwork across club functions.
  • Ensure adherence to policies at front desk, kids club, and Armbar.
  • Drive revenue growth in Dues, Retail, Juice Bar, and ancillary services.
  • Manage bill collections and follow-up with members.
  • Support promotional planning and merchandising efforts.
  • Oversee inventory control and daily report preparations.
  • Perform daily banking deposits and maintain back office efficiency.

Customer Service

  • Greet incoming members and guests.
  • Complete Guest Fitness Profiles and fee collection.
  • Handle inquiries and direct calls or guests appropriately.
  • Manage member service issues including training, lost and found and billing questions.
  • Ensure all required forms are processed correctly.
  • Maintain an orderly front desk and lobby area.
  • Enforce uniform standards among team members.

Organization Relationships

This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and/or General Manager, ensuring enforcement of policies across the club.

Required Qualifications

  • Energetic, friendly, and outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Proven customer service focus with ability to multi-task.
  • High school diploma or GED required along with current CPR/AED certification and state certification as applicable.
  • Minimum of 2+ years in customer service within health club, retail, hospitality, or food service industry.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with multiple phone lines preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand for full shifts and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
