About This Role

As a Senior Technical Program Manager R&D Operations, you will drive operational excellence in Udemy's R&D organization. You will partner with Engineering, Product, Design, Finance, and Operations to manage budgets, lead cost-saving initiatives, streamline processes, and optimize cloud tool spend.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partner with the Head of R&D Operations and FP&A to manage budget and tool operations.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives and run monthly engineering operations reviews.
  • Manage cloud tool spending (AWS, Databricks, Datadog) and optimize usage.
  • Optimize processes for budgeting, reporting, and exception management.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional programs from inception to delivery.
  • Refine workflows, automate reporting, and support metrics-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with other TPMs to scale cross-functional processes.

What You’ll Have

  • 6+ years in program management or operations, preferably in a software environment.
  • Proven skills in managing complex financial and operational processes.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets/Excel and data-driven dashboards.
  • Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure costs at scale.
  • Strong judgment, accountability, and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, effective with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with enterprise Product, Engineering, and Program Management tools like Aha and JIRA.
  • International finance and accounting expertise.
  • Strong analytical and risk management capabilities.
