About the Role
UDC is seeking a full-time Senior IT Project Manager GIS to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing GIS system implementation and software integration projects for external clients within the utility industry. Travel may be up to 50-75% depending on client and project requirements. The candidate should be located on the West Coast or in the Pacific Time Zone.
Responsibilities
The Senior IT Project Manager GIS is responsible for overall planning, coordination, execution, oversight, and completion of projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Review project proposals and assess goals, deliverables, and risks.
- Staff the project team and allocate resources effectively.
- Develop project plans with schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate project duties and supervise personnel during execution.
- Prepare and review status reports and adjust plans as needed.
- Establish business processes to meet project requirements.
- Ensure quality control of project documentation and records.
- Collaborate with finance, marketing, sales, IT, and client staff.
- Manage change orders and participate in proposal development.
- Oversee supervisory responsibilities including training and appraisals.
Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with at least 7 years in project management. Experience required includes:
- Managing Esri GIS system implementations and integrations.
- Electric or gas utility project management in a professional services or consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of project management standards, techniques, and tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation and people management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software such as Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with software development lifecycle management is a plus.
- PMP certification is a plus and familiarity with Esri's Utility Network is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual compensation ranges from $135,000 to $155,000, based on skills and experience.
