Job Description

About the Role

Uber Eats operates as a three-sided marketplace connecting Eaters, Merchants, and Couriers. Our team's objective is to foster harmonious growth across all three segments. We are actively seeking high-caliber Strategy and Operations Managers to join our Canada team. In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with a core pillar of our marketplace (Eater, Merchant, or Courier/Marketplace) and will spearhead the strategic direction for how that particular segment interacts with the Uber platform.

You will essentially serve as the "CEO" of your designated business area, whether you are focused on optimizing eater retention, enhancing merchant profitability, or ensuring courier marketplace reliability. This position sits at the critical intersection of product and operations, requiring you to leverage data to resolve complex challenges and execute initiatives at scale to fundamentally transform how Canadians eat and shop.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Roadmap: Own the end-to-end strategy for your marketplace segment, identifying growth opportunities and building the operational playbooks to capture them.
  • Marketplace Optimization & Pricing: Manage the strategic deployment of incentives, pricing levers, and promotional spend, analyzing elasticity to balance growth with sustainable unit economics.
  • Performance Management: Own the core KPIs for your business area (e.g., LTV, Churn, Reliability, or Take Rate) and drive "quantum leap" improvements in performance.
  • Experimentation & Analysis: Design and execute rigorous A/B experiments to optimize marketplace behavior, using data to decide whether to pivot, kill, or scale initiatives.
  • Product-Ops Bridge: Partner with Global Product teams to launch and localize new features in the Canadian market, ensuring they meet the unique needs of our local ecosystem.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Global Ops to drive complex, multifaceted projects to completion.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in management consulting, high-growth tech, investment banking, or strategic operations.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of two or three-sided marketplaces and the levers that drive balance and efficiency.
  • Experience with data / financial analysis and modeling, price elasticity, or advanced data visualization (Tableau, Python/R).
  • Experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM strategy, or merchant/courier retention strategies.
  • Understands how a change on one side of the platform (e.g., Courier earnings) impacts the other sides (e.g., Eater delivery times).
  • Ability to integrate complex data into sensible business judgments, understanding that every investment must drive measurable returns.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced culture and enjoys quickly iterating on plans to find the most efficient path to success.
  • Considers yourself to be a status-quo challenger who is constantly looking for disruptive opportunities to improve performance and doesn't settle for incremental gains.
  • Excels at leading multifaceted projects with many partners and can communicate complex strategies simply.
