About The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Sr Operations Manager to join our Groceries and Retail business in the Global Marketplace team. You will work closely with Product teams to ensure efficiency and high reliability in the marketplace by managing supply and demand imbalances through sophisticated technology. In this role, you will act as the product champion of Marketplace products, advocating for consumers, merchants, couriers and the company's strategic goals. You will collaborate across all functions (i.e Tech, Legal, Regional Operations) to deliver the company's vision and execute with excellence.
This position requires a strong analytical thinker, with demonstrated ability to run complex analyses, build root cause investigations and business scenarios based on high volumes of data, and recommend the best course of action to drive decision making.
What You'll Do
- Be the driving force for marketplace product launches and performance excellence, advocating for features and improvements to achieve cost efficiencies while striving to deliver high marketplace reliability and affordability for consumers
- Ensure that the product performance is aligned with business objectives, assessing tradeoffs and risks with sound data and long term thinking
- Be the subject matter expert in marketplace products, with strong attention to detail to identify improvement opportunities and detect operational deficiencies
- Define KPIs and implement processes, dashboards and data insights to monitor marketplace health and measure product performance and business impact
- Utilize strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, evaluate experiment plans with a clear understanding of success metrics and requirements for rollouts
- Be able to map marketplace interconnections to anticipate undesirable outcomes and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science and Product Operations teams, and be the SME in the Global Operations team. Collaborate with other Marketplace experts in regional teams, supporting and driving the changes needed to align expectations and solve for local nuances while striving to keep global scalability
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years in Operations, Product Management, Analytics or similar experience
- Proficiency in SQL and demonstrated experience in using data and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Python, SQL, Excel) to derive actionable insights and influence product direction and decision makers
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments is a plus
- Strong communicator with the ability to articulate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- A strategic thinker who can identify and solve complex problems with data-backed solutions
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, navigate complex organizational structures to get things done, and influence without formal authority at all levels of the organization
- Be able to go deep into the details without losing sight of the bigger picture
- MBA or advanced degree is a plus
