About The Role

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about creating the foundational network infrastructure and automation systems to support Uber's autonomous vehicle partnerships worldwide. Joining a collaborative, fast-paced, and highly technical team, you will work at the nexus of hardware capabilities and software optimizations, exploring the future of transportation with self-driving technologies.

About The Team

Uber has established 20 Autonomous Vehicle partnerships globally. A dedicated group of experienced engineers is focused on designing, building, and operating network infrastructure for Uber-scale autonomous vehicle solutions.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Develop novel solutions for physical network infrastructure in unique environments.
  • Create automation and software tools to drive infrastructure efficiency at scale.
  • Improve lifecycle processes including design, deploy, operate, and iterate.
  • Provide operational network support across autonomous platforms and IoT devices.
  • Establish observability & performance metrics and define SLI/SLOs.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party Autonomous Vehicle companies to enhance connectivity and data offload solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and/or operating network infrastructure.
  • 3+ years in network automation and/or network observability system design & operation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for leveraging software and AI to automate network management.
  • Proficiency in Go, Java, or Python.
  • Experience in designing, deploying, and optimizing LAN, WAN, and WiFi technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and technical ability to build consensus.

Compensation & Benefits

For San Francisco, CA-based and Sunnyvale, CA-based roles, the base salary range is USD 180,000 to USD 200,000 per year, with bonus programs, equity awards, and additional benefits available for all US locations. More details are available on the Uber careers benefits page.
