About The Role

The Earner org at Uber is responsible for products and programs that make earning through the Uber marketplace rewarding. As a Scientist II Earner Experience, you will leverage your expertise in economics, operations, machine learning, and statistical modeling to improve platform efficiency and help direct product development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop creative solutions and build prototypes using machine learning, statistics, and optimization.
• Solve ambiguous business problems with data-driven approaches.
• Propose data analysis frameworks to drive insight and facilitate decisions.
• Establish standard data science methodologies and productionize algorithms.
• Design, run, and interpret large-scale A/B experiments.
• Communicate insights to senior management and multi-functional teams.
• Provide actionable recommendations to support product ideation and feature launches.

Basic Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2+ years experience in data science, analytics, or a related role.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research).
• Proficiency in SQL and a programming language like Python or R.
• Experience in designing and analyzing large-scale A/B experiments.
• Ability to work autonomously and navigate ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional strengths include:

• M.S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative field.
• Expertise in advanced statistical techniques, causal inference, and predictive modeling.
• Experience influencing product strategy for consumer apps.

Compensation & Benefits (For New York, NY-based roles)

The base salary range is USD$161,000 - USD$179,000 per year. Additional bonus programs, equity awards, participation in a 401(k) plan, and other benefits are available. More details at Uber Benefits.
