The Challenge Awaiting You
As a Fraud Strategy Analyst at Ualá, you will play a pivotal role in detecting, analyzing, and mitigating fraudulent behaviors, thereby safeguarding users and strengthening product security. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing large volumes of customer data, transactions, and alerts to identify patterns, anomalies, and emerging trends.
- Collaborating in the development, validation, and enhancement of risk models and detection algorithms (rules, scoring, machine learning).
- Measuring the effectiveness of anti-fraud controls and rules, proposing improvements to optimize detection and reduce false positives.
- Producing executive reports and dashboards to communicate risks, averted losses, and newly identified fraud typologies.
- Designing SQL queries and ETL processes to feed models and reports.
- Working cross-functionally with Fraud Prevention, Product, IT, and Risk teams, ensuring analyses support strategic and operational decisions.
- Exploring new data sources, analytical methodologies, and tools to bolster fraud prevention efforts.
What We're Looking For
- At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data science, ideally applied to fraud, risk, or digital banking.
- Solid knowledge of advanced SQL (mandatory).
- Proficiency in visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Knowledge of Python or R for statistical analysis and modeling (valued).
- An analytical profile with the ability to detect anomalies and translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Experience or interest in fraud, payment methods, digital banking, or e-commerce (desirable).
- Ability to communicate results clearly to both technical and business teams.
- Autonomy to manage end-to-end projects and proactivity in proposing continuous improvements.
